Lot 330:
A Pair of English Cut Crystal Vanity Jars with Sterling Silver and Tortoise Shell Lids, circa 1923
Description
This lot comprises a pair of English cut crystal vanity jars with sterling silver and tortoise shell lids, circa 1923. Each jar features a faceted clear cut-glass body with a diamond pattern. The circular metal lids, identified as sterling silver, are adorned with an inlaid central design, depicting an eight-pointed floral or starburst motif rendered in a lighter contrasting material, consistent with tortoise shell or a faux tortoise shell composition. A series of impressed hallmarks, including a crown and a lion passant along with other indistinct characters, are visible on the rim of one lid, confirming English sterling silver.
