Lot 260:
A Mixed Collection of Ceramic Tea Wares, Cottage Ware, and Assorted Collectibles
Description
A mixed collection of ceramic tableware, comprising two white/cream teapots, a group of various plates, bowls, and stacked teacups. These pieces are decorated with diverse hand-painted or transferware floral patterns, including roses and multi-colored blossoms, often with gilded accents. Also present is a blue platter featuring a delicate basket of blue flowers. The lot includes several earthenware pieces, identifiable as ‘cottage ware’, shaped and painted to resemble rustic houses. Further items include a rectangular, possibly silverplate or pewter-framed mirror or tray with a tarnished, scalloped edge, a small dark block, and a stack of paperbacks, one prominently titled “BLACK LACE” in orange on yellow, and another partially visible with “FLOR” and “STREET. LONDON. W.C.”, suggesting a London publication.
