Lot 226:
Three Antique British Sterling Silver and Mother-of-Pearl Folding Pocket Knives
Description
This lot comprises three antique folding pocket knives, each featuring iridescent mother-of-pearl or shell handles and metal blades with metal bolsters. The top and bottom knives have smooth, polished mother-of-pearl scales. The middle knife’s handle displays a textured, diamond-patterned design with a small, plain metal shield inlay faintly inscribed, possibly “MON” or “MOR”. The metal blades, likely steel, exhibit distinct hallmarks on the middle and bottom knives near the bolster: a lion passant, a crowned leopard’s head, a date letter (‘G’ on the middle knife and ‘q’ on the bottom), and a maker’s mark, indicative of British sterling silver construction with steel blades.
