A Late 19th/Early 20th Century Ornate Sterling Silver Handled Mug by John C. Jacob, Liverpool
Description
A late 19th or early 20th-century sterling silver handled mug, inscribed “JOHN C. JACOB SILVERSMITH LIVERPOOL” to the underside of the footed base, along with the initials “W.M.”. The ornate body features an elaborate chased or repoussé design with scrollwork and a central engraved cartouche. The interior is gilt. Visible British hallmarks are present near the rim, including a lion passant, a crowned leopard’s head, a duty mark, and a date letter.
