A Late 19th/Early 20th Century Cased London Hallmarked Silver and Gilt Guilloché Enamel Brush and Comb Set
Description
A cased silver and enamel brush and comb set. The primary brush features an oval sterling silver and gilt frame, extensively decorated, and topped with a vibrant blue guilloché enamel panel displaying a concentric circular pattern. Visible hallmarks on the metal include a lion passant (sterling silver standard mark), a crowned leopard’s head (London assay office mark), and a date letter ‘b’, alongside a maker’s mark. The set includes a complementary comb. It is housed in a rectangular hinged box covered in a dark brown faux tortoiseshell material with decorative scalloped trim. The fitted interior is lined with cream-colored fabric.
