Description
A pair of 19th Century lacquered boxes. The first, a circular box, features a dark lacquered exterior with a metallic rim and a lid adorned with a hand-painted portrait miniature of a young woman in a classical or Romantic style. The second, a rectangular hinged box, displays a folk art painting of a woman in traditional attire on its dark lacquered exterior, with a visible brass hinge. The interior base of the hinged box contains Cyrillic text, partially legible as “ПОСТАВЩИКЪ ЕГО ИМПЕРАТОРСКАГО ВЕЛИЧЕСТВА” (Supplier to His Imperial Majesty) and “ФАБРИКИ С.В. ВИШНЯКОВ” (S.V. Vishnyakov Factory), indicating a pre-1917 Russian origin, likely Moscow.
