Description
An early 19th century oval snuff box. The base and sides are crafted from a creamy-white material, consistent with bone. The removable lid is made of a dark, translucent material resembling horn. Set into the lid is a shield-shaped metallic escutcheon, likely silver, which bears small, indistinct hallmarks or maker’s marks at its lower edge.
