A Blue Painted Wooden Blanket Chest
Description
A blue painted wooden blanket chest of utilitarian form, featuring a hinged lift-top lid with a single keyhole on the front. The exterior is painted a solid medium blue, while the interior is a faded light grey/off-white. Internally, a small lidded compartment (till) is present on the right side. Faint, indistinct handwritten numbers and letters, appearing as “B,” “8,” and possibly “19” or “61” along with other scribbles, are visible on the interior surface of the lid. The chest rests on a slightly recessed base molding.
