A Set of Eight Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain 'Scenes From A Summer Palace' Collector Plates
Description
A set of eight Imperial Jingdezhen porcelain collector plates from the ‘Scenes From A Summer Palace’ series. Each plate features vibrant, multi-color traditional Chinese landscape and architectural scenes, complete with figures, pagodas, bridges, and boats. Accompanying the plates are two paper documents, one prominently titled ‘大戲樓’ (Dàxìlóu), translating to ‘Grand Opera House’ or ‘Grand Theatre.’ The reverse of the plates is marked with Chinese text, identifying them as ‘中華人民共和國製造’ (Made in the People’s Republic of China) from ‘景德鎮’ (Jǐngdézhèn), part of an ‘皇室第三屆藏品’ (Imperial Third Collection) and a ‘限量版’ (Limited Edition), individually numbered (e.g., ‘二八八’ – 288). Production is attributed to the ‘中国工艺品 进出口公司’ (China National Arts & Crafts Import & Export Corporation). English text around the rim warns: ‘Artistic object. Precious metal pigments may be toxic. Do not use for eating.’
