Description
A Franklin Mint ‘Clock of One Hundred Flowers’ mantel clock, designed by Dawen Wang. This ornate, multi-tiered porcelain table clock is designed in a pagoda or Chinoiserie style, featuring a predominantly white ground extensively decorated with polychrome floral motifs, ribbons, butterflies, and small human figures, all accented with gilt borders and detailing. The clock face, set in a circular gilt bezel, displays Roman numerals. The octagonal base is finished in a light pink with coordinating floral decoration, supporting the main structure which culminates in a tiered roof and a gilt finial. The underside of the piece is clearly marked in black text: “CLOCK of ONE HUNDRED FLOWERS by Dawen Wang” above a stylized square manufacturer’s or artist’s emblem and “©TFM”.
