A Georgian Walnut Veneer Fall-Front Bureau Desk
Description
A Georgian fall-front bureau desk, constructed from walnut veneer. The desk features a slanted fall-front, opening to a fitted interior comprising pigeonholes, small drawers, and a central arched compartment, with a dark writing surface, likely leather. Below the fall-front are three graduated drawers, each fitted with brass drop handles and escutcheons. The desk stands on four cabriole legs. A small white adhesive label marked with the number “28” is visible on the fall-front.
