A Liverpool Delft Plate, circa 1750
Description
A Liverpool delft plate, circa 1750, of circular form, decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground. The central design features a Chinoiserie-style landscape with a building, bridge, and stylized trees, enclosed by a patterned border. The wide outer rim is adorned with repeating floral motifs interspersed with geometric patterns. The reverse shows an unglazed foot rim and a small, handwritten label that reads: “Liverpool / delf plate / c1780-1790 / Ref No. F. 265.”
