A Trio of West German Hand-Painted Porcelain Figurines of Children
Description
A trio of West German hand-painted porcelain figurines featuring child subjects in various poses. The collection includes a boy playing a violin to a small terracotta-coloured dog, a child in dark winter clothing with a red scarf navigating a slope on skis, and a young boy in traditional attire sitting on a wooden fence with a perched bird. Each piece is finished with a matte glaze in a soft polychrome palette. The undersides of the bases are marked with a blue underglaze device consisting of a large letter V containing a small bee silhouette, positioned above the words W. Germany. An incised numeral 6 is visible on the base of the skier figurine. A white adhesive label reading 12870 is attached to the base of the boy on the fence.
