A Jacobean Revival Style Carved Dark Wood Two Tier Bed Step
Description
A two-tier dark-stained wooden bed step or library step constructed in the Jacobean Revival style. The piece features a hinged upper step which opens to reveal an internal storage compartment. The front face is decorated with a rectangular carved panel featuring three central floral rosettes flanked by vertical fluted detailing, fitted with a single patinated metal ring-pull handle. The structure is supported by turned corner posts terminating in block feet. A small white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the front left side of the upper tier; the characters on the label are blurred and are not legible as a name or inventory number. No other maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
