A Collection of Goebel M.J. Hummel Figurines and Miniature Collector Plates
Description
This collection includes items from the M.J. Hummel range, manufactured by Goebel, Germany. The set comprises two hand-painted ceramic figurines and two miniature glazed porcelain collector plates. The first figurine, Wayside Harmony, depicts a young boy in traditional Alpine clothing sitting on a wooden fence with a small bird. The second figurine shows a boy wearing a green hat and brown coat holding a lamb. Both figurines feature a characteristic matte hand-painted finish. The two miniature plates are part of a numbered series. The first plate features the Little Pharmacist motif and is marked as the 24th edition in a series of 25, Hum 994, Motif 1994. The second plate features the Wayside Harmony motif and is the 25th edition, Motif 1995. Both plates bear blue underglaze Goebel TMK-7 trademarks and are decorated with a star border and gilded rim. The reverse of the plates is marked Not to be used for food.
