A Group of Beswick Porcelain Animal Figurines
Description
A group of English Beswick porcelain animal figurines comprising a pair of seated spaniels, a standing sheep, and a robin. The pair of spaniels are modelled in the Staffordshire tradition with white glazed coats, gold lustre chains and lockets, and black facial features with amber-toned eyes. The base of the first spaniel is incised with the characters BESWICK ENGLAND and 1378 2, and features a hand-painted letter F. The base of the second spaniel is incised BESWICK ENGLAND and 1378 1, and bears a hand-painted letter n. The standing sheep figurine is modelled with a textured white fleece, black face and hooves, and yellow horns. The belly of the sheep bears a black printed mark reading BESWICK ENGLAND and is also affixed with three adhesive labels: a white rectangular sticker printed SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 334 01132502626, a small white label with Beswick written in ink, and a third printed with 12847 4. The robin figurine is perched on a green textured base, the underside of which features a circular black printed mark with a central stylised B surrounded by the words BESWICK and ENGLAND, alongside an incised number 980.
