A Collection of Decorative Porcelain and Ceramic Tableware including Chinoiserie Style Vases and a Cabinet Plate
Description
A collection of various decorative porcelain and earthenware items. The group includes a pair of graduated square-form vases featuring Chinoiserie-style floral branch motifs in shades of pink, blue, and yellow on a cream ground. Also present is an octagonal blue and white cachepot with gilded scrolling highlights and floral panels. A cabinet plate is included, featuring a wide magenta border with gilded filigree surrounding a central transfer-printed romantic landscape vignette depicting a couple in 18th-century attire. The lot further contains a large cream-coloured water pitcher decorated with polychrome floral sprays and a scrolled handle, alongside a matching small ashtray. A moulded creamware planter is present, decorated with ornate scrollwork in relief; this piece bears two white adhesive labels, one reading SHELBY’S AUCTIONEERS LOT 223 with the barcode number 01132502626 and a smaller secondary tag reading 12708 D. The group is completed by two small ruby-glazed vases decorated with similar romantic landscape transfers. No maker names are readable on the exterior of the pieces.
