Description
A collection of Japanese eggshell porcelain tea and tableware items, decorated with hand-painted polychrome enamels and gilt highlights. The decorative scheme features traditional landscapes with geisha figures, flowering cherry blossom trees, and mountains in the distance. The collection includes two lidded teapots of differing sizes, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, and multiple cups, saucers, and plates. A small white rectangular adhesive label is present on the lid of the larger teapot with the handwritten characters 12703. A rectangular white adhesive label is affixed to the interior of the central bowl, printed with SHELBY’S AUCTIONEERS LOT 216 and the date 11/10/2023. No other maker marks or signatures are visible in the image.
