A Collection of Vintage Britains Toy Soldiers and Military Equipment with Original Box Lid
Description
A collection of Britains (W. Britain) hollow-cast lead toy soldiers and associated military equipment. The lot includes an original navy blue cardboard box lid for set No. 755A, featuring a peach-coloured paper label printed with Types of the British Army Infantry: Grenadiers and Highlanders. The label bears the W. Britain trade mark, London, England, and registered number 459993. The collection features six infantrymen in ceremonial red tunics and bearskin hats, one kneeling infantryman in a red tunic, and two mounted figures comprising one on a black horse and one on a brown horse. Also included are a group of infantry figures in khaki uniforms in walking and kneeling poses, a lead motorcycle with a sidecar, a lead field gun, and various seated and prone figures designed for use with vehicles or artillery. A small group of unrelated miniature figures and a single white die are also present within the lot.
