A Pair of Alex de Andreis Colour Prints in Ornate Gilt Frames
Description
A pair of colour prints after original paintings by Alex de Andreis (1871-1939), depicting 17th-century Cavalier interior genre scenes. The right-hand print is titled Interviewing the Chef and shows figures in elaborate period costume interacting with a chef in a grand kitchen setting. The left-hand print features a similar social gathering of figures in period dress around a table. Both works are housed in matching decorative gilt wood and gesso frames featuring ornate foliate corner mouldings and bevelled inner slips. Small printed identification labels are present on the inner slips, identifying the artist as A. de Andreis and providing the title for the chef scene.
Width: approximately 50-60 cm per frame.
