A Collection of Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes RAOB Jewels and Badges
Description
A collection of approximately 35 fraternal society jewels, breast medals, and lapel badges pertaining to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB), primarily representing the Grand Lodge of England (GLE) jurisdiction. The assembly dates from the mid-20th century to the early 21st century and includes various degrees of regalia and merit awards. Featured items include Certified Primo (CP) jewels, Roll of Honour breast medals, and commemorative pieces such as a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee (1952-2002) medal. The items are constructed from gilt metal and silver-tone metal, many featuring polychrome enamel work. Several jewels are suspended from original silk ribbons in colours denoting rank or office, including green, red, and striped variations. Visible inscriptions across the collection include Grand Lodge of England, GLE, Roll of Honor, Philanthropy Truth Justice, Secretary, Honorary Member, and regional identifiers such as Lincolnshire. Iconography includes the traditional buffalo head, lodge-specific crests, and five-pointed stars. The collection is mounted upon a blue velvet-covered display board, with several pieces remaining in clear plastic protective sleeves.
