Late 19th-century Aesthetic Movement mahogany side cabinet
Description
A late 19th-century side cabinet in the Aesthetic Movement style, constructed from mahogany. The piece features a spindle-turned gallery to the top above an open middle shelf. The lower section contains a single cupboard door with a recessed panel decorated with incised and gilded foliate and floral motifs, with matching motifs on the corner blocks. The upper structure is supported by turned corner spindles. The cabinet retains a brass latch and the interior is fitted with a single shelf. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
