It features a pinched wavy rim and a scroll-shaped handle accented with gilt highlights. The body is decorated with hand-painted polychrome floral sprays and bears a gilded inscription reading Wm. Dibbs above the date 1842, which is enclosed within a foliate scroll. The second jug, dated 1845, is of earthenware construction with a waisted cylindrical body and a flared foot. It features a moulded handle in the form of a greyhound. The decoration consists of hand-painted polychrome floral motifs and a black-lettered inscription reading Jn. Wilson above the date 1845.
