Description

This lot comprises two early 19th-century English presentation vessels, likely manufactured from porcelain or fine earthenware. The first item is a large cylindrical beaker featuring a spreading, moulded ribbed foot. The body is decorated with hand-painted sprays of garden flowers, including a prominent blue pansy and pink roses with yellow-tipped foliage. The rim and foot are finished with gilt lines. It bears a handwritten inscription in gold script reading E. M. Chatburn. 1840. The second item is a smaller cylindrical mug with a simple loop handle, decorated with hand-painted floral sprays in shades of pink, blue, and green. The rim is finished with a gilt line. It bears a handwritten inscription in gold script reading Miss Cockroft July 21st 1839 High Wycombe. No factory marks are visible on the exterior of either piece.
