An Assortment of Silver-Plated Tablewares including a Tea and Coffee Service
Description
An assortment of silver-plated tablewares and decorative items in the late Victorian and Edwardian styles. The collection includes a four-piece tea and coffee service comprising a teapot, a tall coffee pot, a two-handled open sugar bowl, and a cream jug. These pieces feature lobed bodies, gadrooned rims, and scrolling handles, with the pots fitted with heat insulators. The service is presented on a large oval twin-handled tray with a decorative cast border and an engraved ground. Also included is a large circular salver featuring a heavily engraved ground with scrolling foliate and floral motifs surrounding a plain central reserve, finished with a gadrooned border. The collection further contains a circular pedestal bowl with a flared rim embossed and chased with floral and scroll designs, a lobed swing-handle basket with chased foliate decoration and a twisted handle, and a large soup or punch ladle in the Fiddle pattern. A small white adhesive lot label numbered 9630 is attached to the coffee pot. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the items.
