An early 20th-century oak chest of drawers in the Queen Anne taste
Description
An early 20th-century oak chest of drawers constructed in the Queen Anne revival style. The rectangular top features a low back-gallery above a case containing five graduated drawers. The drawer fronts are finished with oak veneers showing prominent medullary ray figuring and are fitted with decorative brass drop-handle pulls on butterfly-style backplates. The upper front edge of the carcass is decorated with a carved foliate moulding. The chest is raised on four short cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet. The piece is finished in a consistent dark oak stain. No maker labels or stamps are visible on the exterior or interior of the drawers.
