A Collection of Four English and Continental Bone China and Porcelain Teacups and Saucers
Description
This collection consists of four decorative teacups and matching saucers in bone china and porcelain. The first set is an Aynsley Orchard Gold bone china cup and saucer, featuring a hand-painted fruit study of peaches, grapes, and berries against a mossy foliate background, signed by the artist D. Jones. The cup features a heavily gilded interior and handle. The base bears a green printed Aynsley mark with the text Est. 1775, Made in England, Bone China. The second set is a Paragon bone china cup and saucer decorated with a deep cobalt blue ground and intricate gilt scrollwork and lattice patterns. The interior of the cup features a hand-painted floral spray. The base bears a black printed Paragon mark stating By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen. The third set is a porcelain cup and saucer decorated in a traditional Imari style palette of underglaze cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt with stylized floral and foliate motifs. The base shows hand-painted marks in red and a faint green mark. The fourth set is a porcelain cup and saucer featuring a pink scrolling foliate pattern and a foliate-moulded handle. The base is marked with the hand-painted pattern number 1130 and a small cross in purple.
