An Assortment of 19th and 20th Century Domestic Metalware and Wooden Items
Description
This collection comprises a variety of 19th and early 20th-century domestic wares. The group includes a cylindrical brass umbrella stand with a flared rim, decorated with an embossed repousse scene depicting figures in historical costume within a tavern or domestic interior. Also present is a group of pewter tankards, including one example with a hammered body and others of cast construction. The wooden items consist of a rectangular mahogany-toned box with a hinged lid and metal escutcheon, and a smaller wooden chest with a single drawer and wooden pull-handle. The lot is completed by a hexagonal tin with lithographed scenes and a long-handled domestic tool with a turned wooden handle and metal end. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible on the items.
