An Assortment of Traditional English Brass and Silver-Plated Metalware
Description
This collection is led by a nineteenth-century brass bed warming pan featuring an embossed floral and scrollwork lid and a turned wooden handle. The assortment includes a variety of traditional English domestic metalware, such as a large brass kitchen skimmer with a pierced circular head and a long cast handle. Also present is a circular brass wall plaque with embossed decoration depicting a genre scene of figures in a domestic setting. The lot further contains a mechanical tapper-style desk bell, a cast brass ornamental slipper with incised foliate patterns, and a decorative item with a fleur-de-lis terminal. Miniature items include a small brass vessel and a cast figurine of a seated stag. Completing the collection is a two-tier metal stand with glass inserts, containing approximately twelve silver-plated teaspoons. The stand appears to be silver-plated or chrome-plated. No maker’s marks are visible on the items. A white adhesive label with the numerals 8, 8, 2, 2 is present on the warming pan lid.
