Lot 332:
A Set of British Imari Pattern Porcelain Tea Wares
Description
A set of British porcelain tea wares decorated in a traditional Imari palette. The collection includes teacups, saucers, side plates, a milk jug, and a large open waste bowl. Each piece features a scalloped rim, and the cups and jug are designed with gadrooned lower bodies and ornate scroll handles. The decoration consists of transfer-printed and hand-painted scrolling foliate motifs in iron red and cobalt blue, further detailed with ochre-coloured scrollwork and gilded borders. The underside of one cup shows three hand-painted dots, two in blue-black and one in iron red, likely serving as potter or gilder marks. No manufacturer backstamps are visible. The style and form are consistent with late 19th-century production from the Staffordshire or Derby regions, resembling patterns by makers such as Wildblood and Heath or Royal Crown Derby.
Waste bowl diameter: approximately 15.5 cm.
