Lot 269:
An Assortment of Wedgwood and Villeroy & Boch Ceramic Tableware
Description
A collection of mixed ceramic tableware and associated storage boxes. The lot includes a stack of glazed earthenware plates, the uppermost of which features a botanical transfer-printed design depicting flowers, a bird, and insects on a cream-coloured ground. The remaining plates in the stack are decorated with simple concentric coloured bands around the rims. Also included is a large set of white bone china tea cups and saucers, decorated with a cobalt blue border and gilt scroll-work. The collection is accompanied by several original blue manufacturer’s presentation boxes bearing the Wedgwood mark in both serif and sans-serif typefaces. A further storage box in the lower section of the lot bears the partial mark for Villeroy & Boch. The items are a mix of fine bone china and glazed earthenware construction.
