UK 1953-2006 Commemorative Coin and Philatelic Collection
Description
A collection of United Kingdom numismatic and philatelic items primarily issued during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The lot includes three blue coin folders titled British Shilling Collection Starting 1953 and British Shillings Elizabeth II 1953-, containing various silver-coloured base metal shillings. Two commemorative philatelic and numismatic covers issued for the 80th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 are present, featuring limited edition serial numbers 05263 and 24302, each containing a silver-coloured commemorative crown or medallion. A Great Britain Type Set is held within a purple plastic sleeve, containing pre-decimal denominations including a half-crown, florin, English and Scottish shillings, sixpence, brass threepence, penny, and halfpenny in silver-coloured and copper-coloured base metals. Additionally, the collection includes a commemorative set for the 90th Birthday of HM The Queen Mother dated 1990, featuring postage stamps and a silver-coloured commemorative crown. The obverses feature portraits of Queen Elizabeth II or the Queen Mother with various heraldic and symbolic reverses.
