A sterling silver two-handled pedestal bowl of hemispherical form featuring two scrolling handles with volute terminals raised on a stepped circular pedestal foot. The design reflects early 18th-century George III influences. The base of the bowl is struck with a set of British hallmarks comprising a lion passant within a rectangular shield for sterling silver, a leopard’s head within a rectangular shield for the London assay office, a lowercase letter g within a square shield with clipped bottom corners for the year 1922, and the maker’s mark RWB within a trefoil-shaped border for Robert William Burbridge for Harrods Ltd.
