Description
This lot consists of two decorative items: a glazed ceramic figure of a heavy horse and a hand-crafted wooden model of a Romani bow-top vardo. The vardo features extensive chip-carved decoration across the front and side panels, including floral motifs, heart shapes, and a relief carving of a horse situated above the arched doorway. The interior is visible through the entrance and is lined with a padded, quilted fabric. The roof is constructed from individual wooden slats, and the model is set upon four wooden wheels. The ceramic horse, depicted in a walking pose, is finished in a bay glaze with white markings on the face and lower legs. The figure is designed in the style of major British manufacturers such as Beswick or Royal Doulton, though no maker marks or signatures are present on either piece.
