A Collection of Antique and Vintage Cast Iron Domestic and Trade Items including Siddons Flat Iron Base
Description
A collection of late 19th and early 20th-century cast iron items of British manufacture. The lot includes shoemaking equipment featuring a three-way shoemaker’s last with a teal-coloured finish and a further smaller cast iron last. Domestic items comprise a set of partially disassembled kitchen balance scales accompanied by several octagonal weights. A cast iron flat iron base is present, bearing the raised cast mark SIDDONS for Joseph and Jesse Siddons Ltd of West Bromwich. Also included is a manual hand-cranked device with a turned wooden handle, a coil of black cable, and various unidentified metal components.
