An Assortment of Late 19th and Early 20th-Century Ceramics and Silver-Plated Metalware
Description
A collection of ceramics and silver-plated metalware. The ceramic portion includes various pieces of porcelain and fine bone china teaware. Notable items include a small individual teapot decorated with enameled floral motifs and gilt highlights, alongside several teacups and saucers featuring hand-painted and transfer-printed floral patterns. One set displays a pale green ground with gilt scrollwork, possibly in the style of Bavarian or continental porcelain. Larger pieces comprise a cabinet plate with a transfer-printed landscape scene and a scalloped-edge plate decorated with a central spray of pink roses and a wide gilt border. The lot also contains blue and white earthenware, including a rectangular tureen base with transfer-printed foliate patterns and a scalloped-edge plate. Metalware includes a silver-plated tankard of tapering form with an embossed and engraved central band of foliate and scroll decoration, and a silver-plated teapot handle and lid assembly. No maker’s marks are visible on the items in their current orientation.
