Royal Worcester Painted Fruit Porcelain Cup and Saucer by W.H. Austin
Description
A Royal Worcester fine porcelain cabinet cup and saucer decorated in the Painted Fruit pattern. The interior of the cup and the face of the saucer are hand-painted with a still life of apples and purple plums against a mossy, multi-coloured background. The exterior of the cup, the handle, and the central well of the saucer are finished in solid gilding. Both pieces are signed in script by the artist W.H. Austin. The base of the cup features a pink printed factory mark consisting of a crown above a circular device with four interlaced W letters, surrounded by the words ROYAL WORCESTER MADE IN ENGLAND.
