A Collection of Vintage and Antique Polychrome Glazed Ceramic Figurines
Description
A collection of polychrome glazed ceramic and porcelain figurines featuring pastoral and traditional costume subjects. The group includes a pair of spill holders modelled as a young girl in a blue dress and a young boy in a blue jacket, each standing beside a hollowed tree stump with a lamb and a small tub at their feet, set upon scrolling rococo-style bases with gilt highlights. Also included is a group figurine depicting a Welsh tea party with figures in traditional attire including tall black hats, with the base inscribed Welsh to the front. A larger standing figure depicts a boy in 18th-century style dress with a pink coat, patterned waistcoat, and blue breeches. Other figures include a character in a white coat and black hat, and additional small character groups. These pieces are in the style of 19th and early 20th-century Staffordshire or Continental European potteries. One item bears a modern adhesive label with the numbers 9627.
