Lot 139:
Late 19th Century Architectural Style Stained Hardwood Wall Clock
Description
A late 19th or early 20th-century architectural-style wall clock, designed in the manner of a German regulator. The case is crafted from a stained hardwood, possibly walnut, and is decorated with a scrolled pediment, square-relief bosses, and fluted mouldings. The lower portion of the case features a glazed door and terminates in turned wooden finials. The dial consists of a cream chapter ring with black Roman numerals and a central brass disc with two winding apertures. It is fitted with ornate black hands. The movement is a mechanical twin-train type, driven by a pendulum with a visible brass bob. No maker marks or signatures are present on the dial or case exterior. A small white adhesive sticker with the handwritten digits 9627 is located on the interior right-hand frame.
