Mid-Century Georgian Revival Mahogany Double Wardrobe by Stag Minstrel
Description
A mid-20th-century mahogany double wardrobe from the celebrated Minstrel range by Stag Furniture, designed by John and Sylvia Reid. This piece is executed in a Georgian Revival style, featuring mahogany veneers over a secondary wood carcass. The two doors are detailed with simple recessed panels and retain their original small brass ring-pull handles. The wardrobe is raised on characteristic splayed bracket feet. The Minstrel range, launched in the 1960s, remains a staple of British mid-century design, favoured for its clean lines and traditional influences. Dimensions: H 178cm x W 91cm x D 59cm.
Condition report:
Structurally sound with no major defects. The finish shows signs of age-related wear, including scuffs to the top cornice and the feet. Light surface scratches and dust are present throughout the exterior. The doors operate smoothly and the original hardware is present. No visible evidence of woodworm or significant veneer loss.
