Norlor Ware, Rosamund Figurine
Description
A Norlor Ware hand-painted ceramic figurine titled Rosamund, depicting a lady in a wide crinoline-style skirt decorated with blue floral sprays, a vibrant blue bodice with a pink bow, and a wide-brimmed hat. She is shown cradling a small white dog and holding the handle of a parasol. The base features the stamped factory mark NORLOR WARE MADE IN ENGLAND, the hand-inscribed model name Rosamund, and the artist’s initials CAV. Height: 20cm.
Condition report:
Extensive fine crazing throughout the glaze, typical of earthenware of this period. Surface staining and discolouration are present on the skirt. The parasol is missing its upper canopy, leaving only the handle and frame. No chips or cracks detected. Small adhesive sticker present on the front.
