Mid-20th Century Sheraton Revival Mahogany Triptych Dressing Table
Description
This mid-20th-century mahogany dressing table is designed in the traditional Sheraton Revival style, featuring a central long drawer positioned above a kneehole and flanked by two deep pedestal drawers. The piece is constructed with mahogany and mahogany veneers, with the drawer fronts displaying decorative book-matched grain patterns. It is fitted with its original brass bail handles and is raised on four elegant tapered and ring-turned legs. The upper section is surmounted by a triptych of adjustable mirrors with scalloped tops, supported by a shaped frame and flanked by two integrated cylindrical jewellery pedestals. While the construction is structurally sound and typical of the mid-century period, no maker’s labels or stamps are present. 150cm x 110cm x 50cm.
Condition report:
The unit is structurally sound and stable. The finish shows significant surface wear, including prominent white scuffing, scratches, and residue across the top surface that will require professional restoration. The triptych mirrors and original brass hardware remain in good condition with no major defects or missing components noted.
