Late 20th Century Scandinavian Red Leather Reclining Lounge Chair and Ottoman, attributed to Ekornes Stressless

A contemporary Scandinavian-style reclining lounge chair and matching ottoman, dating from the late 20th century, circa 1990s. The set is upholstered in a deep red leather, featuring an ergonomic design with a high, contoured backrest defined by decorative topstitching and an integrated headrest. The chair is fitted with padded armrests and is supported by a curved, laminated bentwood swivel pedestal base with a mahogany-toned finish. This aesthetic is mirrored in the matching ottoman, which sits upon a four-legged bentwood base. While no maker’s marks are immediately visible, the design and construction are characteristic of the Stressless range by the Norwegian manufacturer Ekornes. Condition report:
The set is presented in good overall condition. The leather surfaces exhibit minor creasing and light wear consistent with typical use and age, but remain free from significant damage. The wooden bases are structurally sound, showing only minor surface abrasions and light scuffing to the finish, primarily around the base edges. The reclining and swivel mechanisms appear to be in good working order.
