Description

A mid-20th century Queen Anne revival display cabinet on cupboard, constructed from a stained hardwood with a rich mahogany tone and featuring high-quality book-matched burr walnut veneer panels. The piece is designed in two sections for ease of movement. The upper section comprises a single glazed door with six individual glass panes set within astragal glazing bars, opening to a shelved interior. The lower cupboard section features a prominent recessed panel of book-matched burr walnut. A decorative carved gadrooned moulding defines the waist between the two sections. The cabinet is supported by four short cabriole legs terminating in traditional pad feet. The doors are fitted with original-appearing brass escutcheons. This piece represents the mid-century interest in 18th-century English furniture design, offering a slim profile suitable for traditional interiors. Dimensions: Height 180cm, Width 60cm, Depth 35cm.

Condition report:

The cabinet is in good structural condition throughout. The finish is well-preserved with a pleasing colour and lustre. There is minor surface wear, including light scratches and small indentations, consistent with age and domestic use. The glazing is intact and the doors function correctly. No evidence of woodworm or significant veneer loss was noted during inspection.
