A Collection of Three Royal Doulton Polychrome Glazed Ceramic Items Including Scaramouche and The Potter Category: Ceramics
Description
A collection of three Royal Doulton polychrome glazed ceramic items, comprising two large character jugs and one seated figurine. The first is a Scaramouche character jug, D6814, modelled by Stanley James Taylor. This piece was produced as a special edition for the Guild of Specialist China & Glass Retailers and features a handle designed with comedy and tragedy masks. The second item is a figurine titled The Potter, HN1493, depicting a seated craftsman in traditional attire surrounded by his finished vessels. The third item is a character jug depicting The Jester, presented in a vibrant purple and pink hooded costume. Each piece is expertly moulded and hand-painted, bearing the standard Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamps to the underside. The Scaramouche jug includes specific printed marks identifying its limited edition status. Scaramouche jug height approximately 17 cm, The Potter height approximately 18 cm, The Jester height approximately 17 cm.
Condition report:
All three items appear to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional restorations. The polychrome glazes remain bright and well-preserved. There is minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rims consistent with age.
