Lot 81:
Various Manufacturers, Collection of Animal Figurines, Glazed Ceramic and Porcelain, Mid-20th Century
Description
This lot comprises a diverse collection of approximately 25 decorative animal figurines. It is important to note that these items are static decorative objects and do not feature any mechanical components, coin slots, or internal mechanisms associated with mechanical banks or registers. The assortment includes a variety of subjects such as several dog breeds including terriers, pugs, and spaniels, domestic cats, a large spotted feline resembling a cheetah or leopard, an owl, a songbird, a rabbit, a pig, and a swan. The pieces are constructed from glazed ceramic and porcelain. While no prominent manufacturer marks are visible, the style is consistent with mid-century ceramic imports from Japan and Europe. There are no patent marks or moving parts. The largest piece, the spotted cat, measures approximately 8.5 inches in length. Smaller miniatures range from approximately 1 to 3 inches in height.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition with bright and intact glazes. The surface decoration appears original with no evidence of repainting. As these are non-mechanical items, there are no functional mechanisms to assess. No significant chips, cracks, or structural repairs were observed during the group overview, though minor shelf wear and age-related surface marks are to be expected. One piece retains an auction inventory tag.
