Regency Fine Arts, Collection of Decorative Ceramic Poultry Figurines
Description
A group of five ceramic items comprising a large Regency Fine Arts rooster, a two-piece hen-on-nest egg server, and three chick figurines. The rooster is finished in a vibrant polychrome palette of deep red, mustard yellow, forest green, and cobalt blue glazes, standing on a grassy mound base decorated with molded white daisies. It features a gold oval sticker on the base reading Cockerel by Regency Fine Arts. The cream-coloured hen-on-nest egg server features a red comb and wattle, with the base containing two molded egg-cup holders and an impressed number 10 to the interior floor. The set includes a pair of huddled yellow chicks with an indistinct blue underglaze manufacturer mark and a single chick designed as a salt or pepper shaker with a circular blue mark to the underside. Rooster height 26 cm.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition, showing light wear consistent with age and decorative use. The rooster has no visible chips, cracks, or repairs, though it displays minor pin-holing in the glaze from the firing process. The hen-on-nest shows light surface abrasions to the inner rim where the lid meets the base. The shaker chick is missing its original plug.
