Description

A classic Mid-Century Modern teak sideboard from the celebrated Fresco range, designed by Victor Wilkins for the British manufacturer G-Plan (E. Gomme Ltd) during the 1960s. The piece is skilfully crafted with teak veneers and features a bank of four drawers to the left-hand side, adjacent to two double-door cupboards. It is defined by its signature sculpted, integrated wooden handles and a sleek, flush-front profile. The carcass is supported by a distinctive solid teak sculptural underframe with tapered legs and a curved stretcher, reflecting the strong Scandinavian design influence of the era. The top drawer is typically fitted with a felt-lined cutlery insert. This model is a quintessential example of high-quality British mass-market furniture design from the post-war period.
Dimensions: H 80cm x W 213cm x D 45cm

Condition report:

The sideboard remains in good original condition with a uniform colour and lustre throughout. The structural integrity is excellent, with all joints remaining firm. Surface wear is minimal and consistent with age, including light scuffs and minor indentations to the top and edges. The drawers and cupboard doors function correctly. There are no visible signs of woodworm, major veneer lifting, or previous restorations.
