Description

A matched set of four mid-century modern dining side chairs manufactured by G-Plan (E. Gomme Ltd.) during the 1960s or 1970s. This classic design, part of the Fresco range and often attributed to Victor Wilkins or Leslie Dandy, features warm-toned teak frames. Each chair is constructed with a high ladder-back design comprising four vertical slats and a gently curved top rail, supported by elegant tapered circular legs. The seats retain their original brown vinyl upholstery. All four chairs bear the authentic red and silver G-Plan foil labels to the underside of the seat frames, dating the set to the mid-1960s to mid-1970s period. Dimensions: Height 91cm, Width 49cm, Depth 48cm, Seat Height 45cm.

Condition report:

The set is in fair to good vintage condition. Structurally, the frames remain sound with tight joinery. The teak finish shows minor surface wear, small nicks, and an age-appropriate patina throughout. Regarding the upholstery, one chair has a significant horizontal tear across the centre of the brown vinyl seat. The remaining three seats show light wear. Due to the damage on one seat, professional reupholstery is recommended for the set to ensure a uniform appearance.
