Goebel, West German Art Pottery, and Miscellaneous Decorative Ceramics Restoration items
Description
A diverse collection of approximately 20 decorative ceramic and porcelain items. The lot includes several figurines in the manner of Goebel Hummel depicting children in traditional dress, such as a boy with a basket and a girl reading. Featured is a large bulbous West German art pottery vessel with a vibrant orange and yellow fat lava style glaze. Also included is a lidded porcelain trinket box with floral garlands and an armorial crest, two miniature cottage-style pastille burners with applied floral decorations, and a character jug of a smiling gentleman in a green hat. Further items comprise a delicate bisque porcelain figurine of a seated girl in ruffled attire, stylised animal figures including a yellow fawn and a tan-glazed abstract form, and an Inuit-style figure in a hooded parka. Various makers likely including Goebel and mid-century European studios. Height 5cm to 22cm.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good vintage condition. Minor flea bite chips are present on the delicate applied floral elements of the miniature cottages. No obvious professional repairs or restorations are visible. Surface irregularities on the orange vessel are intentional to the volcanic glaze.
